Famous choreographer Saroj Khan is no more, died in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest
New Delhi: Bollywood’s famous choreographer Saroj Khan is no longer with us. He died late in Mumbai. Cardiac arrest is being attributed to Saroj’s death. Let me tell you, Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra on June 20 after complaining of difficulty in breathing. At the same time, after the hospitalization, a mandatory Kovid-19 examination of Saroj Khan was also done, in which the infection was not confirmed.
Saroj Khan was born on 22 November 1948 in Mumbai. She was 71 years old. His real name was Nirmala Nagpal. He did choreography for over 200 films. Saroj was the first assistant choreographer, but she became a choreographer with the 1974 film Geeta Mera Naam.
Let me tell you, Saroj Khan choreographed songs in thousands of Bollywood films from 1986 to 2019, including ‘Nimbuda-Nimbuda’, ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Dola Re Dola’, ‘Katte Nahi Katte’, There are many superhit and iconic songs like ‘Hawa-Hawaii’, ‘Na jaane kahan se se aayi hai’, ‘Dil dhak-dhak kar laga’, ‘Hum aaj aaj hai wait’, ‘Choli ke pyaar’.
Saroj Khan choreographed songs from many hit films like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Mr. India’, ‘Chalbaaz’, ‘Nagina’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Devdas’. He choreographed ‘Tabha Ho Gaye’ for the last song film ‘Kalank’. Madhuri Dixit was seen dancing in this song.
Saroj Khan received the National Film Award for Best Choreographer for the 2007 film Jab We Met, the Filmfare Award for the film ‘Guru’, the Filmfare Award for ‘Devdas’ in 2002 and the National Film Award and the film ‘Lagaan’ American Choreography Award. There is hardly such a big star in Bollywood that Saroj has not made her dance. Saroj, who dances everyone on her own rhythm, may not be with us now, but her memories will always be in our hearts.
